CURLSILK™ was born from a journey that began long before its name. In 2008 while school, Ashley launched Monet Essentials a passion project rooted in her love for hair care. Although economic challenges led her to step back from the market, Ashley never stopped experimenting. She continued blending her grandmother’s timeless wisdom with modern innovations, crafting hair elixirs and remedies in pursuit of the perfect formula.

Years later, still frustrated by the lack of products that could protect, straighten, and revive curls without damage, Ashley envisioned something revolutionary. She set out to create a line that would transform curls into silky, smooth strands while keeping hair strong, moisturized, and healthy. That vision became CURLSILK™.

The Inspiration Behind CURLSILK

Growing up in Florida’s relentless humidity, Ashley knew all too well the struggle of maintaining smooth, frizz-free hair. Stepping outside often meant an instant battle against the weather leaving curls fuzzy and unmanageable. Determined to find a solution, she dreamed of products that could help women transition seamlessly between curly and straight styles without compromising hair’s health.

Her grandmother’s influence was foundational. From homemade remedies to mastering the art of hot comb pressing, she instilled in Ashley the importance of natural, nourishing ingredients and the value of gentle, heat-conscious styling. These lessons became the cornerstone of CURLSILK’s philosophy.
